Michael W. Shuey, LMT

Michael W. Shuey is an Arizona Board Certified Licensed Massage Therapist and Arizona Board Licensed Aesthetician. He trained and graduated from the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts in Tempe, AZ, specializing in Massage Therapy. He is a registered practicing member of the International Massage Association and is CPR/First Aid certified.

Michael received his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Education and a minor in Biology from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. While working as a Training and Marketing Director in the Property Management industry, Michael enjoyed his career but felt unfulfilled. He was looking for a way to make a difference.

“I have always had an interest in massage therapy and continually thought about going to massage school. After years of telling myself that I could not do it, one day I woke up and it was time to make my dream a reality. The moment my first class started I knew massage was going to change my life forever. I love going to work every day knowing I've helped someone relax, heal and rejuvenate themselves.”

After several years in the corporate world, Michael fulfilled his dream by opening his own massage practice in 2003. Continually expending his training and knowledge of massage therapy, Michael now uses the healing practices of Reiki and Craniosacral Therapy in his daily practice.

“There are many different types of massage techniques. I believe that massage is most beneficial when the therapist takes time to customize the massage to the individual's specific needs by using a variety of techniques that provide the best results.”

In 2006, Michael graduated from Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics in Tempe, AZ. Michael expanded his practice in 2006 by opening Unravel Body Therapy and Wellness Center in Tempe, AZ.
